I pride myself on my attention to detail and the ability to capture the individual personality of each person or animal. In my opinion, a drawing is much more personal than a photograph and brings the subject to life on the paper, capturing the emotion and their personality as well.
About Me
I’m a self taught artist living and working in West Yorkshire. I’m married with two young daughters.
My love of art began at school but it took a back seat as I left and pursued my career as a cancer nurse. It was reignited in 2007 when we moved to Perth, Australia and I had a little more free time. Since then I have practiced my skills whenever I can whilst juggling life as a Mum and still working as a nurse.
My favourite mediums include graphite, watercolour pencils, coloured pencils and pastel pencils. I love the depth, control and detail that can be achieved with these mediums which is essential for good realistic animal and pet portraits. My portraits are created using high quality, lightfast materials. Lightfast is a longevity rating in art supplies. The higher the score the longer the colour, pigment or material will last. All of my materials including the paper I use are all archival and made to last ensuring you are getting the very best quality.
